[ Site-specific video installation ]
Surround layers reflections of the natural environment within a sunless corridor of Lower Manhattan in this site-specific installation. The imagery was shot over glass, making the shifting natural environment appear both “natural” and disruptive. Slight shifts in movement draws attention from passing pedestrians. The project is a silent reminder of the era before “setbacks” became a required in real estate development, allowing the presence of sunlight on the street.
The project was installed in 2006, supported by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Swing Space residency program.
